Joyce Lanette Hammock, 67, of Beaumont, died Friday, June 13, 2008, at her residence.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, the 16th at First Pentecostal Church in Starks, LA. Reverend Greg Frazier officiating. Interment will follow at Doyle Cemetery in Starks.
Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Joyce was born March 7, 1941, in Starks, LA, to Kermit and Betty "Dovie" Doyle Buxton.
Joyce was an active member and past treasurer for the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 4759 in Starks. She retired from the Jefferson County District Clerk's Office. She enjoyed shopping, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Odell Hammock of Beaumont, daughters, Betty Martin and husband John of Mauriceville and Brenda Griffin of Beaumont; grandchildren, Jonas Martin, Katie Griffin, Taylor Martin; sisters, Athlea Foster "Cooter" of Spurger and Vonita Meche of Devers.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Meche, Johnny Elton Miller, J. L. Bussel, Otis L. Ashworth, Richard L. Ashworth and Olan Ray Ashworth.
