Judy Allene Davis, 70 of Buna was born September 13, 1945 in Beaumont, Texas to Jack Stanley Steele, Sr. and Eva Allene (King) Steele and passed away August 31, 2016 at Christus-St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Judy loved animals and was a nationally acclaimed breeder and trainer of German Shepherds for Police Departments and other law enforcement agencies. Judy’s Shepherds assumed positions all over the country and were among the finest Shepherds in law enforcement. She was fearless, smart, and had an amazing way of communicating with her shepherds.

Judy also was a talented artist. Her oil paintings of snow covered mountains, the Native American west and animals were truly beautiful and reflected a great attention to detail and a deep love of the subject matter. She was a very special lady who will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Kelly Steele. She is survived by her husband, Tim Davis of Buna; two sons, Heath Schexnider of Hamshire; Nolton Schexnider of Richmond; 4 grandchildren, Sawyer, Sterling, Eva and Lea Schexnider; brothers, Jack Steele, Jr. of Buna and Scott Steele of Beaumont; and sister, Mary Oldbury of Pine Forest.

From her infectious smile that inspired me from the second grade, to her athletic prowess, with George Reeves as her partner killing the "Jitterbug" on "Jive at Five" with Tommy Vance, to the mature vivacious mature woman that pour so much joy into my heart for the last 13 years, my Judy was the greatest gift that God could bestow on this mortal man. She always gave ten fold what she ever received, because it was impossible to match her boundless spirit and love of life. It wasn't good-by that Wednesday morning, it was just so long, see you soon on the other side.

Judy Davis (Steele-Schexnider) was a great wife and mother when we were growing up, starting families and cruising though life... Judy grew up in Beaumont TX and then married Nolton Sr. in the 60's. Heath and I were born there in 66-67. In the 70's and early 80's my dad moved all over the united states to some 20 job sites but mom always made sure Heath and I were in school, sports and activities. We certainly got to see a lot places growing up. In the 80's and 90's we settled down in Chicago where she continued to be very active importing, breeding and training world class German Shepherds for Police, military and blind schools around the USA. She was always there for family events like when Heath and I had weddings and when all her grand kids were born. In early 2000's She moved back to Beaumont TX where she re-married Tim Davis. Heath and I also moved to the area. During these years she lived the retired life, but she battled and beat breast cancer for several years. She was very active in protesting to stop voter fraud and for a better president and government. In 2010's She and Tim moved to Buna TX for her remaining years. I will really miss her bright smile, positive attitude and love for her dogs, cats and birds. She would literally sing and dance during the day as she cleaned the house. She was a pillar for me, always there to listen to my problems, give me advice or laugh at my bad jokes. I didn't visit as much as I wanted to these past few years, but we spoke on the phone often. I love her and I know she'll be watching over us.
