Judy Gail Pepper

Judy Gail Pepper, 63, of Orange, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, in her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend David Green of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bridge City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Bridge City.

Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Judy was born in Los Angeles, California on December 2, 1945, the daughter of Vern and June Willoughby Pepper. She retired in February 2009 from the Vidor Police Department after 27 and a half years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Vickey Groom, Sherry Pepper; and her nephew, Brent Brandon.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Savoie and her husband Jon of Orangefield, Melonie Bagley of Orangefield; son, Bryan Bagley of Orange; grandchildren, John Savoie, Jarrett Savoie, Bree Bagley and Rayce Bagley; and special people in her life, James Sutton, Angie Blacksher, and her son Byrce, numerous friends and extended family.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Lt. Arthur Carter, Det. L.B. Cupid, Det. Brent Sonnier, Sgt. Ted Picard, Sgt. David Vandagriff and Officer Mike Anding. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jon Savoie, John Savoie, Bobby Williams, Cameron Williams, Colton Williams, Jordan Williams, Vincent Hannegan and Ray Groom.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Vidor Police Department, the city of Vidor, and the MD Anderson Cancer Treatment Center for taking care of Judy. Also thanks to the Odyssey Hospice for taking care of her since January 29, 2009 and Reverend David Green for the lasting impact he made on Judy.
