Julian W. Meadows, Jr.

Julian Wade Meadows, Jr., 71, of Pinehurst, died Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be the Reverend Clifton Rankin.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Born in Port Arthur on January 22, 1941, Julian was the son of Julian Wade Meadows, Sr. and Thelma LaVerne Smith Meadows. He retired from Huntsman Chemical and was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. Julian served as Judge for the City of Pinehurst for 32 years, retiring in 2008.

Julian loved camping and traveling and together, he and Gail have taken 32 cruises.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Stanley Meadows.

Julian is survived by his wife, Gail Meadows of Pinehurst; son, Eric Wade Meadows of Orange; son and daughter-in-law, Chad Isaac and Susan Meadows of Webster; brother, Glen Meadows of Columbus; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Jane Meadows of Houston and sister-in-law, Carolyn Meadows of New Ulm.

Also surviving are his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Glinda and Leroy Gomez of Pinehurst, Linda and John Heard of Orange and many nieces and nephews.

Words can hardly express the deep sadness we feel for Gail - although we are happy for Julian & his eternal resting in heaven, we still feel so badly for her.
