June Hamilton

June Hamilton, 93, of West Orange, passed peacefully from her earthly life to begin her eternal life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, March 29, 2010.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Joe Orr, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Enterprise.

Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on June 10, 1916, Mrs. Hamilton was the daughter of Mary and Reed Thomas Newton.

She retired from J.C. Penney's in Orange after 18 years of service and was a faithful member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in West Orange. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Morgan J. Hamilton; grandson, Clay Morgan Hamilton; great grandson, Colin Stringer; son-in-law, Glenn Sanders; five brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Gail Hamilton of Mauriceville; daughters and son-in-law, June Ann and Merrill Stringer of Orange, Linda Sanders of Conroe; brother, Jimmy Newton of Hemphill; grandchildren, William Hamilton and his wife Donna, Robert Hamilton, Sterlin Stringer, Dena Stringer, Jason Sanders, Blake Sanders and his wife Gwendolyn, Alicia Permenter and Lori Hamilton.

Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Glenn "Buck" Hamilton, Lauren Stringer, James Hamilton, Mary Hamilton, Grayson Sanders; great great-grandchildren, Chesleigh and Claylee Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank Southeast Texas Hospice.
