Kathleen West DuBose

Kathleen West DuBose, 80, of Bridge City, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at her home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Winfree Baptist Church in Bridge City under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Keith Royal. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, at the church.

Born in Newton, Texas on October 17, 1929, Kathleen was the daughter of John and Ruby Tindol West. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Winfree Baptist Church. Kathleen loved God, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Carlton DuBose; daughter, Judy DuBose; sisters, Madie Quibodeaux and Helen Cox; and brother, Admire Boudell.

Kathleen is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and Larry O'Kelley of Bridge City, Sue and Rickey DuBois and Sheila and Charles Chester both of Orangefield.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sherry Flusche of Hurst, Monica Jones of Bridge City, Crystal Sherman of Mauriceville, Keith DuBois of Bridge City, Kim Mayea of Groves, Aaron DuBois of Nederland, Ryan Hall of Alabama, Cara Chester of Mauriceville and Charles Chester, Jr. of Orangefield; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Arnold and Freddie Haseloff; and brother, J.L. West.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Keith DuBois, Aaron DuBois, Charles Chester, Jr., Adam Mayea, Terry Sherman and Mark Shaw. Honorary Pallbearers will be Vernon DuBose and Dennis Siau.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Dubose but I felt as if I had known her from all of the stories Cara shared with me about her "Granny". I know she will be missed terribly.
