Kathy Rene Evans

Kathy Rene Evans, 55, born February 7, 1955 in Beaumont, TX, went to be with the Lord on December 3, 2010. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.

She was married to and is survived by Roger A. Evans of Lumberton, TX. They married February 12, 1999 after a three year courtship. Kathy said, "I finally found the sunshine in my life and married him…"

She worked for S.P.I.S.D., Katy I.S.D. and retired from B.I.S.D. as a secretary for the Transportation Department Annex in the spring of 2009.

Kathy's favorite hobby was reading. She also enjoyed many years of Country & Western dancing. She loved traveling, antiquing, flea markets and garage sales. Kathy was also an avid animal lover.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou Adams.

Those left to cherish her memory are her father, Millard Tipton and wife, Helen, of Conroe; son, Jason Champagne of Beaumont; brother, David Tipton and wife, Shirley, of Katy; granddaughter, Jillian Champagne and her parents, Russell and Rhonda Champagne, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Jacob Wright, Ryan Hanks, Cooper Rene Hanks and parents, Melissa and Bucky Hanks, of Beaumont; mother-in-law, Lillian Evans of Nederland; Brenda Smith Greer and husband, Clarence, of Mesquite, TX; uncle, Rev. George Adams and wife, Marilyn, of Vidor; cousins, Rev. Steven Adams and wife Tammie, of Vidor, Roxanne Soto and husband, Hector, of Atascocita and Debbie Palin and husband, John, of Lake Charles; and seven grand-nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas, 2050 Spindletop Rd, Beaumont, TX 77705.

I grew up with Kathy. We went to Amelia Elem. together. I remember her kind voice & sweet face. Our parents knew each other through the Menge/Adam grandpas working together at Humble. Dearest Roger, I'm at a loss for words. Please know that you and Jason are in my Thoughts and Prayers. Sorry I couldnt be there, I was on Vacation when I found out.
