Katie Sue Allen Vaughn passed away on February 20, 2008, at the Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, TX after a lengthy illness, at the age of 76. Katie was born on July 25, 1931, to Hilliard and Nola Allen of Trezevant, TN. She was the oldest of four children. Katie was preceded in death by her parents and her twin brothers, Bethel and Cary Allen.
Katie is survived by a loving family that includes Charles, her husband of 58 years; four children, Dennis, David, Douglas, and Katie Susan; and six grandchildren, Natalie, Bryan, Christina, Michelle, Kathryn Katie and Austin; and her sister, Brenda Kay Allen Shaw of Jackson, TN.
Katie was a graduate of Trezevant High School in 1949. After she married Charles in 1950, they moved to Houston, TX and most of her life she worked as a nurse at different hospitals and doctor's offices. She was a member of the Garden Road Baptist Church in Pearland, TX.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Viewing and visitation will be held at the Brummett Funeral Home in Trezevant on Friday, February 22, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. for family and friends. A graveside service will be held at the Oakgrove Cemetery in Trezevant, TN at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2008, under the care of Brummett Funeral Home.
