Kay (Freddie) Baker, 77, of Beaumont, passed away on December 27, 2019, at Lucas Place Assisted Living, in Beaumont.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 2, 2020, at St. Jude Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Tom Phelan. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. A reception will be held immediately after at St. Jude’s Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held before the service on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at Claybar Kelly Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on December 6, 1942, she was the daughter of Fred A. Baker and Katie Lou (Boren) Baker. Kay worked for 30 years at the Jefferson County Clerk’s office, where she retired. Her top priorities in life were to shop and travel the world and she especially loved England. Kay had a very caring and friendly soul and never met a stranger. She was a faithful member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Beaumont and was loved dearly by all of her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Katie Lou Baker.

She is survived by her lifelong friends, Gay Baskin and Patsy Kirkland.

Memorial contributions in honor of Kay may be made to St. Jude's Thaddeus Catholic Church at 6825 Gladys Ave., Beaumont, Texas 77706.
