Kenneth D. Rieck

Kenneth D. Rieck, 83, of Orange, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Timothy Dinger.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 2, 2008, at Grandview Memorial Park in LaPorte, TX. Officiating will be Reverend Alfred Scholz.

Visitation will begin at noon on Sunday at the funeral home.

Kenneth was born March 23, 1925 in Littleport, IA.

Kenneth served in the US Army Airborne Infantry as a Master Sergeant. He later worked at DuPont as Construction Superintendent.

He was a member of the Orange VFW. He loved to cook for his friends and family. He was an avid baseball fan of the Astros and Red Sox.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Rieck, brother Billy Kuehl and sister, Lois French.

He is survived by his children, Candice McClead and husband William and Jeffrey J. Rieck and wife Lisa, all of LaPorte, TX, grandchildren, Kenneth McClead, Justin McClung and Ethan Rieck; sister, Linda Glaesene of Iowa, brothers, Curt Kuehl of Houston and Larry Kuehl of Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Fred Copeland, Howard Maxwell, Kenneth McClead, Billy Pelt, Ethan Rieck and Noble Wise.

I knew Ken for 30yrs. He was the most amazing friend. The memories I have of Ken and Virginia will be with me for the rest of my life. From the age of 12 I fell in love with both of them. They taught me so many lessons in life from such an early age. I ch##imported-begin##Lisa Pound##imported-end##

I am so sorry to hear about Mr.Rieck...I used to work at Orange Pharmacy and he used to come in and talk to me all the time...I had not worked at the pharmacy in several years but I had run into him a few times and got to visit...I will always remember hi##imported-begin##Michelle Clingaman##imported-end##
