Kenneth Larry Hicks - Labrie-Claybar

Kenneth Larry Hicks, 69, of Port Arthur passed away on April1, 2016. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at New Covenant Church, 2601 Hwy. 73 in Port Arthur, TX.

Mr. Hicks was born May 11, 1946 in Charleston, Mississippi to Elby Byrd and Nancy Rebecca (Molpus) Hicks. He was a United States Navy veteran.

He is survived by his children, Kenneth Gilcrist, Shanna Cavazos and Amy Hall; grandchildren, Alejandra Cavazos, Shealyn Boatman, Jordan Boatman, Joseph Gay, Brieanne Perkins and Hayden Perkins; brother, Joe Hicks; and sister, Barbara Fletcher. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Charles Arthur Hicks and David Wayne Hicks.

Burial will be held May 7, 2016 in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Sixteen Church Rd, Chunky, Mississippi

My friend, Kenny. I have know him since the late 70's. We worked together at 7up bottling company. Then he went to Pepsi cola. Then became independent owner of his own Sara Lee truck and route. He was a quiet man, with a kind heart. He was friends with myself and two other sisters. We use to go to the Keg in Beaumont. Had such good fun hanging out. He will always have a place in my heart. Rest in Peace my friend. God s comfort to his family. We loved him.
