My this is Patricia Stephen Jordan. Laelene and I were same age and friends since I grew up going to Sabine Tabernacle. My husband and I were transferred to Houston in 1959. He worked for Dept. of Public Safety. We married in 1955 and she and Thomas A few years later. We always loved the conventions in August. That was before the upstairs of the sanctuary was air conditioned. But we did not notice the heat even with starched petticoats. Just new boys and good services. Especially from Louisiana. Shirley Watson Allen remembers that time also. Martha was also a good friend. She loaned me maternity clothes for my third child. My mother, Bertie Stephen, and Mrs Lytle were good friends also. The tabernacle was like one big happy family. Shirley Miller, Joan Hale, and others were also my friends. I pray blessings on each of the family members left. Love to all of you.
