Larry Dale Allen, Sr., age 62, of Beaumont, TX (formerly of Lumberton) passed away on July 7, 2017.

Born in Beaumont, Texas on May 6, 1955, Larry is the son of J.D. Allen, Sr. and Adelle Thompson Allen of Lumberton.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Allen, and son, Chase Douglas Allen.

Larry is survived by his parents, J.D. Allen, Sr. and Adelle Thompson Allen; two children, Larry D. Allen, Jr. and Taylor Grace Allen; two grandchildren, Trenton Lee Coburn and Emma Grace Coburn; his brothers, John David Allen, Jr. and Paul Wayne Allen; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and lots of friends. Everyone loved him dearly. Larry was passionate about all things on the water – tubing, boating, fishing, crabbing – and boiling crawfish, all of which he instilled in his children. He was a retired projectionist and stagehand, a trade he loved and served for the majority of his adult life.

The family extends a special “Thank you” to Dennis Waller for his unwavering dedication to his cousin over the past years.

A memorial to celebrate the life of Larry “Daddy” Allen will be held at DD’s pond on Glaze Road in Sour Lake at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017. All are welcome to attend.
