Leavell Berry

Leavell Berry, 78, of Bridge City, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 10, 2008.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Bob Boone and Pastor Randy Clark.

Cremation will follow under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Leavell was born on September 11, 1929 in Snyder, TX. She was the daughter of Jimmy B. and Oma Ann Ball Riddle. Mrs. Berry owned her own daycare for seventeen years. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught Adult VIII Women's Sunday School Class and the Children's AWANA program.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Oma Riddle; and three brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, SQ Berry; daughters, Rhonda Berry of Buna and Brenda Ellender and husband Kirk of Bridge City; son, Jeff Berry and wife Darlene; grandchildren, Caleb Rhodes, Kristin Henderson and husband T.J., Manessah Ellender, Jadon Ellender, and Micah Ellender; and sisters, Tena Walker and Frances Unger.

I stayed at Mrs. Berry's from the time I was 5 until I was 13. Mrs. Berry sat and talked alot with me about life and living for God.
