Linda L. Authement, 80, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on December 4, 2018, in Baytown.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Claybar Kelley Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Reggie Lloyd, Jr. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., at Eminence Cemetery in Wallisville, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Claybar Kelley Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on August 13, 1938, she was the daughter of Grady Louis Sparks, Sr. and Olie Viola Chapman. Linda loved God, her family, and her church. She spent many years as a Custodial Engineer for Mount Belvieu ISD and served as the Pastor’s wife for over 30 years. Linda enjoyed cooking, traveling, and helping others. She always had a welcoming smile on her face and never met a stranger. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Olie Sparks; loving husband, Walter J. Authement, Sr.; son, Walter J. Authement, Jr.; and her brother, Edwin Sparks.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Jeff Authement and wife Patti, of Baytown, Ken Authement and wife Becky, of Jasper, and Troy Authement, of Corpus Christi; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Susie A. Miller and husband Rev. Rodney A. Miller, of Groves, Grady L. Sparks, II and wife Janet K. of Vidor, and Donna J. Tomplait and husband Chris R., of Port Acres.
