Linda Laurine Dowell, of Beaumont, passed away October7, 2014. She was born June 20, 1948 in Beaumont to Clarence Herbert Dowell and Velma Hatley Dowell. A graveside service celebrating her life will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.

Laurine attended school in Beaumont and was a 1966 graduate of French High School. After graduating she attended Lamar University. Later she served as Safety Education Specialist for both the City of Beaumont and Lamar University. Laurine was a very creative person and at one time owned Dowell’s Drapery Shop in Beaumont.

She was preceded in death by her father and her brother, Glenn Hatley Dowell. She is survived by her mother, Velma Dowell Fellows; sons, Jonathan Dowell and Mark Glenn Dowell; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
