Linda Sue Parish
“Lin-Sue”

Linda was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts to Arthur and Helen Lyman. She grew up there in the New England area with her four siblings and experienced a childhood of adventure, family trips, and her Mother’s wonderful chocolate chip cookies.
She was an early computer technician, working with computers in the days when a computer was the size of a building and the programming was done with paper punch cards.
On a night out with friends Linda would meet a young man from Texas, Ron Parish. Time passed and the couple continued seeing each other. Linda’s Mother, upon meeting the young man from Texas, was unable to understand him because of his accent. Eventually, communication was established, possibly through Linda acting as interpreter.
After some time the couple were married and moved to Beaumont, Texas where they began their married life. The couple worked and planned like all do. After some time their first son was born and two years later, their second.

For the next several years Ron and Linda built the home they had dreamed. Their two sons would be living life as it should be, they wore garage sale clothes but ate well. They played, got injured, then Linda would patch them up and send them back out. Linda made time for the boys when they needed her, all three of her Parish boys. She was there always, patching them up, telling them what they needed to hear, giving all of herself to help her loved ones.

The setting and the landscape changed a few times during this family’s lives. There were moves to new places following work and opportunities. Some moved away, some came back, and life moved on. No matter the distance between her or any of her loved ones, Linda continued to give all of herself in support. There was never doubt that she would be there when you needed her, you could count on her being there for you.

During her life Linda gathered many friends and loved ones. She held them close, no matter the personal trials she may have been going through herself at the time. She spread this love because she knew it was the path to a good life. Through following this path, she made the world a better place, she left her mark, and she left it better than she found it.

We are all better people for having known Linda Parish, to have loved her, to have been loved by her, and to have a memory of her smile.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. till 1:30 P.M. followed by a Memorial Service in her honor at 1:30. Both to be held at LaBrie Claybar Funeral Home in Beaumont.
