A devout Catholic, Lottie faithfully prayed the Rosary, finding strength and comfort in her spiritual devotion. She had a keen eye for treasures, delighting in the hunt at garage sales and thrift stores. Lottie's hands were often busy with sewing, and she found great pleasure in reading. She loved to dance, embrace fun, and savor a good cup of coffee. Her evenings were often spent enjoying John Wayne and western movies, as well as the suspense of Alfred Hitchcock films, all while listening to the comforting tunes of Willie Nelson. Lottie was a proud 1953 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School in Port Acres.
Lottie's memory will be forever cherished by her loving family. She is survived by her son, Don Bernard and his wife Ann; her daughters, Donna Faye Calhoun and her husband Terry, and Vicki Lynn Dunn and her husband Kevin. She leaves behind 9 adored grandchildren and 13 beloved great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. Lottie is also survived by her dear sister, Linda Bailey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Freddie and Maudest Broussard, and her siblings, Mildred, Margie, Goldie, Mary, Hedrick, Roy, Shirley, Harold, and Irving. Lottie's warm spirit and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
