Lula Mae Nicholas LeDoux, 87, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Silsbee Oaks Nursing Home. A memorial gathering of friends and family will be held at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13th.

Lula was born in Calcasieu Parish, on May 26, 1926, and grew up in Saratoga, Texas as one of four children. She graduated as Valedictorian of her senior class. After graduation, she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone in Beaumont until her marriage to Joseph C. LeDoux in 1946.

Together they raised 3 children in Lake Charles, La. and Houston, Texas.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker who loved her family. She loved life. She loved cooking, gardening, flowers, music and dancing.

She is survived by her family; Jane LeDoux Silvernail of Lumberton, Mike LeDoux of Ragley, LA and Vicki LeDoux Magruder of Humble, TX, along with spouses and 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren (and another expected in 2014).

We will miss her very much. She is much loved.
