Throughout her life, Lou exemplified a faithful servant of the Lord, with her deep commitment to her faith evident in her active role at the First Baptist Church of Lumberton. She was not just a member but a pillar of support, generously volunteering her time and talents within the church community. Lula was affectionately known as "Granny" to many, a title that reflected her nurturing spirit and the warmth she radiated towards all generations.

Lou’s personality was as vibrant as her dedication to family and community. She loved fishing—a passion that she continued to enjoy well into her 90s—creating cherished memories on the water with loved ones. Whether she was casting a line or bringing joy to her family with her encouraging words, Lou's zest for life was unmistakable. Lou leaves behind her cherished family: her sons Bobby Granger and his wife Paula Granger, and Ronnie and his wife Laurie, along with her beloved daughter Susan Hawkins. She is also survived by her niece Lisa Ezell and a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each one a testament to her nurturing spirit and enduring legacy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ceaser Thibodeaux and Gussie Broussard Thibodeaux, along with her brothers Ted Thibodeaux and JC Thibodeaux, and her sister Margie Ann Thibodeaux. Their memories and influence shaped the compassionate woman she became, and their spirits will always be intertwined with hers.

A visitation to celebrate Lou's vibrant life will be held on October 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Followed by a funeral service at 2:00 P.M at the First Baptist Church of Lumberton, located at 1206 S Main St, Lumberton, TX 77657. This gathering will be a heartfelt tribute to a remarkable woman whose love and faith will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched.
