Madeline Merle Harbert, 86, of Bridge City passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in Groves.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Bridge City with Reverend Bob Boone officiating. Interment will follow at Nibletts Bluff Cemetery in Vinton, LA.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5-8:30 p.m. on Friday at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Mrs. Harbert was born October 12, 1924 in Duncan, OK to Carl Vernon and Nellie Mae Wilburn Newton. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Bridge City where she was very active in the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn Francis Harbert, Jr. and daughter, Saundra Harbert.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Missy Harbert and Carl and Theresa Harbert, 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Harbert, Michael Harbert, Johnathan Harbert, Leonel Harbert, Richard Drewett and Jose Reyes. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Thompson, Brent Mire and Noah Harbert.
