Marjorie Cheryl Barbee

Marjorie Cheryl Barbee, 73, of Beaumont, passed away on March 21, 2020, in Beaumont.

Born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, on December 16, 1946, she was the daughter of James Lawrence Lesseig and Marjorie Lenora (Gallion) Lesseig. Upon graduating from Nederland High School, she went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Lamar University. Marjorie was a faithful member of Amelia Baptist Church, where she served her Lord faithfully and was a nursery worker and Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed knitting and helping anyone she came across. Marjorie taught preschool at Martin Elementary for over 20 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be terribly missed by all those who came to know and love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marjorie Lesseig.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Herbert H.R. Barbee of Beaumont; children, Clifford Barbee and wife Katie of Florida, Jennifer Couch and husband PJ of Beaumont, and Brandice Richards and husband Leland of Huffman; grandchildren, Andrew Barbee, Brooke Barbee, Lillian Couch, Reginald Couch, Cid Couch, Leela Couch, Taylor Barbee, Travis Cullen, Kylea Richard, and Drew Richard; and brother, James C. Lesseig and wife Sue. .
