Marquita Lamar Smith

Marquita Lamar Smith, 85 of Beaumont passed away Monday, December 7, 2009 at Harbor Hospice.

Funeral Services will be Friday, December 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel in Beaumont. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith was born in Laredo, Texas to Amador Sanchez and Julietta Sanchez Mendez. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family and the bookkeeper for the family business, Tel-Rad Enterprises. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 64 years, Kenneth H. Smith, Sr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ken Smith, Jr. and wife Linda of Lake Charles and Bruce Neill Smith and wife Debbie of Beaumont and grandchildren, Kesha, Trey, Brandy, Kortney, Christopher, Lindsay, Landon, Taylor and Brandon. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Joshua, Daniel, Matthew and Seth.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rose and the other caretakers of Harbor Hospice for all of their love, care and kindness.
