Mary Nell Devillier, 75, of Bridge City, died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Baptist Orange Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City, with the Reverend Joseph P. Daleo, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, officiating.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will begin Sunday at 4:00 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., with Deacon Hazen Kenney officiating, both at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Mary was born in Mamou, Louisiana on July 8, 1933. She was the daughter of Gene and Marie Vezinat Tate.

Mary owned and operated Nell's Beauty Salon for over 40 years. She was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Mary was also a great wife, mother and grandmother. Mary is survived by her spouse, Nolan J. Devillier of Bridge City; daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Tony Titus of Bridge City; daughter, Ginger Gunter of Bridge City; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Raymond Dewayne Walker of Rosepine, LA; son, Wayne Devillier of Bridge City; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and sisters, Thelma Turner of Nederland and Betty Hunt of Alexandria, LA.

Pallbearers will be Horace Daville, Jr., Horace Daville, Sr., Andrew Hollier, Ferrell McGavock, Tony Titus and Cecil Hunt.

I am so sorry for your loss. I just loved "Mrs Nell" so much. Some of my best memories as a child was when we would all go crabbing or crawfishing.
