Mary Virginia Jean Smith

Mary Virginia Jean Smith, 63, of Mauriceville, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at her home.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Reverend Wesley Blanton of Oakwood Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Mary was born March 5, 1945, in Lufkin, TX, to Marvin Floyd Shorty and Mary Virginia Neal Morgan.

Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Shorty and Mary Morgan and her husband, Richard Lee Smith.

She is survived by her sons and daughters, Fletcher Shoemaker and wife Christie of Orangefield, Rodney Shoemaker of Beaumont, Angela Richard and husband Joey of Mauriceville, Joanna Surber and Harold Adams of Vidor, James Smith and wife Kathy of MO, Richard Smith, Jr. and wife Myra of Shreveport, LA; thirteen grandchildren, one great grandchild; brother Floyd James Morgan and sister Barbara Phillips and husband Charles, all of Mauriceville and many other extended family members.

Serving as pallbearers will be Elvis Shoemaker, Jonathan Shoemaker, Dane Shoemaker, Jacob Richard, Lou Aukerman and Kenney Brand. Honorary pallbearer will be Kadie Richard.
