Mavis Lee Pippin, born on February 11, 1927, in Harmony, Texas, passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on February 15, 2026, in Spring, Texas.
A devoted matriarch and cherished member of her community, Mavis poured her heart into her family, ranking faith as her first priority and family as a close second. She loved to cook for her family, creating warm gatherings filled with love and laughter. Her joy in life was not only found in the kitchen but also in taking care of her grandchildren, whom she adored and cherished deeply. Mavis had a welcoming spirit, always wearing a radiant smile and engaging in conversations about her faith in Jesus.
Her proudest accomplishments reflect a life dedicated to service and love. As her three children grew, she volunteered as a homeroom mother in their school, taught children’s Sunday School class in her church and on numerous occasions helped raise money to expand the church building fund by making and delivering hot donuts. After moving to Spring, Mavis was particularly passionate about her contributions to the Haitian Ministry, where she tirelessly assisted and sewed for young girls in need. From 2017 until December of 2025, she crafted an impressive 5,312 dresses and 2,254 tote bags, showcasing her immense generosity and commitment to helping others.
Mavis was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Pippin; her son, Jimmy Pippin; her daughter, Jan Feuge; her siblings, Luster Harvey, Earl Harvey, and Faye Condray; and her parents, James and Lessie Harvey. She leaves behind a loving legacy of 1 daughter, Donnie McCoy and husband Jim, 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends who will carry her memory forward.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM at LaBrie Claybar Funeral Service, located at 1155 N 11th St, Beaumont, TX 77702. Mavis will be laid to rest during an entombment service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, following the funeral service.
Mavis Lee Pippin's life was a testament to love, faith, and service, leaving an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be profoundly missed by all who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
