Maxie Johnson - Labrie-Claybar

Maxie Johnson, 76, of Orange, died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Harbor Hospital in Orange.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 17, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Burial will follow at VFW Cemetery in Starks, LA.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Maxie was born on June 28, 1931, in Starks, LA. He was the son of Colby and Oma Stidivant Johnson. Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a construction superintendent at Insearch after 25 years. He was a member of VFW in Starks, LA and Masonic Lodge in New Orleans.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Naomi Litherland Johnson of Orange; sisters, Helen Atkinson of Orange and Leta Foster of Starks, LA; brother, Marvin Johnsons of Starks, LA; and many nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are J.E. “Slim” Broussard, Bruce Poole, Fred Adams, Tim Foster, James Haggard, and Joey LeDoux.
