Michael Allen "Mike" Smith, 58, of Beaumont passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Woodland Baptist Church with Brother Jim Sliger officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Westlake Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Westlake, LA. Visitation will be on Friday from 7-9 p.m. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
Mike was born December 5, 1950 in Lake Charles, LA to Thomas Carl "T.C." and Nancy Lee Barnes Smith. He was a member at Magnolia Baptist Church and was baptized on February 28, 1965. Magnolia Baptist Church later merged with Woodland Baptist Church where he was also a member. He was also a 1969 graduate of French High school and Lamar University where he earned his degree in physical education and history. He worked for his father at Triangle Engine until he retired.
He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Carl "T.C." Smith and is survived by his mother, Nancy Lee Smith of Beaumont; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Jeff Daigle of Beaumont; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Marilynn Smith of Deer Park; nieces and nephews, Nicole Daigle Giglio and husband, Damian of Louisville, Jarrod Daigle of Beaumont, Kevin Carl Smith and wife, Natalie of Deer Park and Dawne Wilson and husband Paul also of Deer Park and many other loving family members.
