Mildred Ophelia Seago

Mildred Ophelia Seago, 87, of Orange, died Monday, May 25, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 28, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Mr. Chris Eppler of Mauriceville Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Visitation will be from 2:00-9:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home in Orange.

Born in Shelby County, Texas on April 4, 1923, Mrs. Seago was the daughter of Melvin Smith and Nell Jeans Smith. She was member of Mauriceville Church of Christ and a cafeteria worker for more than 25 years at Little Cypress Elementary School.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandsons, Christopher Seago and Chad Allen Stephens; sister, Eula Mae Williford; and 2 siblings, Deloris and Eugene Smith who passed away at a young age.

Mrs. Seago is survived by her son, Lloyd Daniel Seago of Orange; daughters, Elsie Mae Potter and her husband, Marvin Lee of Orange, Linda Diana High and her husband, Mike of Orange, Cathy Denise Savage of Rose City, and Deborah Kay Stephens and her husband, David of Orange;

She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Jimmy Seago, Amy High, Tamara Elliott, Sabrina Davis, Amber Lund, Kayla Stephens, Adam Stephens, Wayne Potter, Dwayne Potter and Kim Adkins; 17 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren; and brother, Melvin Douglas "Bo" Smith of Joaquin.
