Milton D McElroy

Milton D McElroy, 77, of Lumberton died Sunday, January 2, 2011. He was born November 29, 1933 in Pineland, TX.

Milton served in the United States Army from 1959-1962. He was stationed in Germany before he returned to the United States. He was a carpenter in the Beaumont area most of his life, during which time he was contracted to build and renovate several historic buildings and homes in the area. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Milton was preceded in death by his wife Imogene McElroy and his sister Jimmie Lou Loftin. He is survived by daughters; Pamela Mouton of Lumberton, TX, and Melissa Fortenberry and husband Robin of Houston, TX; son; Douglas Lynn McElroy and wife Wendy of Lumberton, TX; and five Grandchildren; Ashton Mouton of Fort Collins, CO, Cody McElroy of Lumberton, TX, Raya Fortenberry of Houston, TX, Emma McElroy of Lumberton, TX, and Macy Fortenberry of Houston, TX.

Visitation will be held at Claybar Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Claybar Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 10 a. m. Graveside services will follow at 4 p.m. in Pineland, TX at Jack's Cemetery.

McElroy family, We were so sorry to hear about your loss. I have always admired Mr. McElroy's dedication and love towards his family in that he was "always" there to support Cody at every function we went to for band.
