Minnie Alma Debes

Alma Debes, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was born on March 11, 1931, in the charming town of Chester, Texas. She gracefully departed from this world on October 15, 2025, in Bacliff, Texas, at home with her children by her side, leaving behind a remarkable legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Alma was a devoted Jehovah's Witness for nearly 60 years. Her faith was a cornerstone in her life. She was a woman of immense talent and vibrant spirit, having owned her own salon where she showcased her flair for beauty and style. Her work as a former flight attendant brought her joy, allowing her to travel and connect with others, further enhancing her love for life and the stories it had to tell. Her appearance always reflected her personality; Alma never went out without her makeup perfectly applied and her hair impeccably styled.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Alma was a generous soul who embraced life with open arms. In her younger days, she found joy in playing softball, showcasing her spirited nature and love for activity. Alma had a special fondness for good food and cherished moments spent with family, affectionately earning the name "Grammy." 

Alma was preceded in death by her dear parents, Alice Toney and Wyatt Spurlock, her beloved son Scott Debes, and her cherished husband, Don Debes. 

Alma is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kimberly Debes, and her son, Kevin Debes. Her grandchildren, Katie and Blake Bennett. Her nieces: Karen McClanahan, Sue McClanahan, Tara Hearne, and Nancy Graves. Numerous other loving family and friends hold treasured memories of Alma close to their hearts.

A graveside service to celebrate Alma's extraordinary life was held on October 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Chester, Texas.

Alma Debes life is a reminder to all of us to embrace beauty, cultivate kindness, and cherish the moments that we share with one another. She will forever be missed and lovingly remembered.
