When I think of Monroe and Johnnie Mae I see two Christian people that lived life to the fullest. I can never remember ever hearing an unkind word ever spoken by them. They were always laughing and joking with you. I loved the times I got to go visit with them .one summer went to spend some time. Lost my suitcase off the top of their car. Found this out when we got to Warren Tx at Monroe's brothers house. So Monroe, Buster,& I back tracked to try and find it. Well there were this group of buzzards in the road and Monroe said think we can get one,and he hit the pedal and off we went speeding down on all those buzzards. We had the windows down an one almost come into the car on Monroe's side and it left all it's dinner on Monroe's lap and mine. We had to turn around , go back and get cleaned up.We were very stinky, but we never stopped laughing. They bought me clothes so I could still stay and spend time with them. My suitcase was found by a stranger turned into sheriff's office. What a summer, thaks for the love and memories we have made.

I will never forget being between twelve to fourteen years old going to spend the night with Cindy. You always welcomed me and made me feel at home. One morning you took me with you to show me around the plant where you worked. We drove around in a cart from place to place. You showed me the control room and things I never knew existed in order to make the plant run. I was too young and shy to tell you then, but at that time. I felt as if I finally had a Dad. Thank you for that and the thousands of other fun and funny memories. Thank you for treating my husband like he was a blood relative the first time we visited y'all. You showed us all around your place and he was able to see some of the most incredible items he didn't even know were still in existence. He was in awe of you and told everyone he knew about you and all of your collections. You stole his heart and gained his admiration and love that day. I wish we could have spent more time together as we got older, but as usual life got in the way. I wish our son, Joey, had been old enough to go on a tour with you to see things he will never have a chance to see again. I wish he would have had the chance to sit in your house and drink a cup of coffee @ 5 am in your dining room and feel the house shake so much he would think it was going to fall down as the train passed by, and to be woken up smelling Aunt Johnnie Mae cooking breakfast and packing your lunch as she would drink her Tab Cola. So many of my childhood memories are filled with you and your family and I can not thank you enough for those. You were a hero to me and I loved you with all of my heart. I only hope you knew how very much you meant to us. We love you Uncle Monroe, Shirley, Tim, and Joey Bush

What fun we had at Sandy Creek. You and all the guys took turns pushing Crystal on her bike until she finally took off. Sitting around the camp fire, listening to all the stories. Playing games, the Seagull camp outs, the fish fries, the caravan vacation trips, and Monroe I hope you'll find a comb in heaven. 'Till we meet again, Carol Findley.
