Nelda F. Letsinger, 74 was born May 23, 1937 in Dawson, TX to J. C. and Laura Beatrice Scarborough and passed away after a lengthy illness May 1, 2012 at Plantation Village Nursing Facility in Altus, OK. Mrs. Letsinger was a long-time resident of Lumberton prior to relocating to Altus about seven years ago. She was employed for many years as a receptionist with Gulf States Utilities in Beaumont.
She is survived by her sons; Chuck Steely of British Virgin Islands, Les Letsinger and wife, Glenda of Moss Hill, TX, Jeff Steely and wife, Sherri of Altus, OK and Kip Steely and wife, Martha of Clayton, NC; seven grandchildren, Candice, Kristin, Jeffrey and Kacie Steely and Sonny, Brandon and Cody Letsinger; three great-granddaughters, Remington Steely, Emmalynn McPherson and Makenna Miller and one great-grandson, Cameron Letsinger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Letsinger and her parents.
A graveside service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont under the direction of Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Nelda Letsinger's name be made to the Alzheimers Association, Beaumont Chapter, 700 North St., Beaumont, TX 77701.
