Nita Odelle Cooper

Nita Odelle Cooper, 82, of Orange, died Friday, November 9, 2012, at her home.

A Graveside Service will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas on October 9, 1930, Nita was the daughter of Russell Daniel Coleman and Earlene Nimitz Coleman. She was a member of The Bengal Guards in Orange. In her spare time, Nita enjoyed shopping and ordering items from QVC. She loved drawing, collecting and doing many crafts; she also built her own violin. She always loved having her family together and never missed a chance to be with those she loved.

Preceded in death by her husband, William Raymond Cooper, Nita is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Bob Powers of Kingwood; sons and daughter-in-law, Danny and Charlene Cooper of Orange, Ray Cooper of Orange, Sammy and Pam Cooper of Orange and Bob and Sabrinna Cooper of Deer Park.

She is also survived by her thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Wilson of Bridge City, Gladys Dryden of Lavernia; and brother, Russell Coleman of College Station.

This is such a sad time for us all. I think about Aunt Nita's sweet smile and how we talked and visited so often. She and Mom were fun to be around and I have so many good memories of her. Remember when she built a playhouse out in the cornfield out of ##imported-begin##Nita Baldwin##imported-end##
