Nora Ruth Dunaven, 74, of Beaumont passed away October 15, 2014 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, TX. She was born June 14, 1940 in Hackberry, LA to Chester and Jesse Mae Gibbs Abbott and grew up in Orange, TX. Before moving back to Beaumont to work at All Saints Episcopal School she lived in South Dakota and Oregon. After retiring in 2011 she enjoyed working in her yard and antiques.
Her entire life’s purpose was serving Christ and others.
She was preceded in death by her father; sisters, Catherine Feher, Belva Jensen, Patricia Norsworthy and Josephine Mardis; and brother, James Abbott. Surviving Mrs. Dunaven are her daughters, Catherine Dunaven and Jennifer Dunaven; granddaughter, Christa Dunaven; brother, Michael Abbott and sister, Martha Maze.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Claybar Funeral Home Beaumont, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 5:00 pm with an hour of visitation prior to the service.
