Nora Lee Sanders

Nora Lee Sanders, 87, of Conroe, a former resident of Orange, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, at Strake House in Conroe, Texas.

A graveside service will be 1:30pm, Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at St. Mary's Cemetery in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Tom Phelan of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange.

Visitation will be from 11am to 12:30pm, Wednesday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on November 12, 1925, Nora was the daughter of Simon A. Bourgeois and Mary Virginia Miller Bourgeois. She graduated from Orange High School in 1944; where she was a member of the Bengal Guard. Nora was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange and St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest T. Sanders, brothers, Herman Bourgeois and S.A. "Booty" Bourgeois, Jr.; and sister, Vivian Carr.

Nora is survived by her son, Steven Sanders and his wife, Leslie of Houston, Texas; daughter, Vicki Schell and husband, Doug of Hideaway, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Schell, Katy Schell, and Olivia Sanders; great-grandchild, Blake Schell; sister, Jeanette Calhoun and husband, Charles; and sister-in-law, JoAnn Bourgeois.

What a true treasure Aunt Nora Lee and Uncle Ernest were to the six Wade kids as well as to that awewome bunch of cousins! Nora was a wonderful lady. She and her husband, Earnest, lived next door to my sister in Port Neches. Latter, I had the pleasure of her company on several occasions taking her out for visits to the hair shop. Special memories of a sweet lady. Earnest T. and Nora were very good friends and customers at our pharmacy in Orange Tom Williams Pharmacy. My partner Joe Smithson RPh deceased always had fun picking at Nora. Aunt Nora Lee was such a special lady. I have wonderful memories of her and Uncle Ernest when I was growing up. The trait I loved the most of hers was her infectious laugh. Nora Lee and Ernie were our next door neighbors in Port Neches Tx for 20+ years. They were both wonderful,caring people who could brighten up your day.
