As the sun rose the morning of August 23rd, Norma Rampmaier, an angel, entered into the Heavenly Host with joy and great homecoming.
Born in Jennings, Louisiana on November 12, 1920 to a very close and loving family, Norma began her journey through life. As a girl, she loved life in the country. She graduated from Jennings High School and went to Paris, France to live for six months prior to the war. She came home to the love of her life, William "Buster" Rampmaier, and they began their strong devoted life together. They bore two children, son Floyd and daughter Nancy. Those times were filled with outdoor activities and family time. Norma loved her family and those precious friends of their family and was always there with a helping hand. She continued helping others throughout her life with volunteer work at the hospital, school, church and community until a stroke at age 90. Her home was open and the coffee pot always full, for the host of friends and children that stopped by to visit. She will be missed physically by all, especially her littlest joy, Aubrey, but will live always in our hearts and memories.
Norma was the daughter of Floyd and Icy Lewis Tramel. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Bridge City and served many years as volunteer for RSVP, Red Cross and Richter Food Program.
Preceded in death by her husband, William "Buster" Rampmaier, Norma is survived by her brother, Billy Tramel of Jennings, Louisiana; son, Floyd Rampmaier and wife, Milla Don of Osage, Arkansas; and daughter, Nancy Bourgeois of Orange. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Amanda Harris and husband, Chris of Orange, Wanda Bailey and husband, Corky of Osage, Arkansas, Rhonda Hutchins of Osage, Arkansas, and Paula Shaver and husband, Clark of Compton, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Harris, Bryan Bailey, Alesha Bailey, Ashley Hutchins, Shane Hutchins, Alanna Henson and husband, Brett, Taylor Shaver, Lane Shaver and Colton Shaver; her loving members of St. Paul's Tallant class and a host of "adopted" teacher children.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2012, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Brad Morgan, pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Bridge City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Corky Bailey, Bryan Bailey, Jerry Savant, William "Burt" Tietjie, William "Dub" Tramel and Lane Paxson.
