Numa N. Joe LaGrappe

Numa N. ?Joe? LaGrappe, 76, of Orange passed away Tuesday April 13, 2011 in Bridge City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City with Reverend Steven Leger. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Bridge City.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. Sunday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City with a Rosary recited at 5:00 p.m.

Born in Port Arthur on November 26, 1934, Joe was the son of Percy and Eunice LaGrappe. He was a retired insulator with Asbestos Workers Local #22 in Deer Park, Texas and was in the U.S. Army for two years.

He loved wood working, gardening, friends and all the grandkids and neighbor kids who called him ?Pa Pa?. He was a long time member of the Bridge City Knights of Columbus Third Degree, #3406, where he enjoyed working with fellow members and helping with the lent fish fries.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Greta LaGrappe; son, Richard Babington; and daughter, Ann LaGrappe.

Joe is survived by his wife, Barbara LaGrappe; daughters, Melissa Broussard and husband, Mark of Hornbeck, Tennessee, Debra Gauthier and husband, Russell, Brenda McPherson and husband, Wayne, Linda Juneau and husband, Louis of Orange; son, Douglas Babington of San Diego, California; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Gauthier, Louis Juneau, Wayne McPherson, Mark Broussard, Jason Addison and Riki Babington. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Foreman, James Nezat, Leonard LeBouef, Billy Reves, Don Cole and B.C. K.C?s.
