Funeral services for Opal ?Jack? Jackson, 87, of Sour Lake, TX, will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel with Reverend Thomas McGarity officiating. Interment will follow in the Rosedale Cemetery in Sour Lake. Visitation will be Monday, February 14, 2011 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jackson was born April 15, 1923 in Zavalla, Texas, the second oldest of 12 children, and passed away February 11, 2011 in Beaumont. In 1949, she and her husband, O.D., moved to Sour Lake. She worked as a bookkeeper and checker at QP Grocery Store and then at Mrs. Mary?s Day Care where she was affectionately named by the children as Mrs. ?Jack.?

An active member of the Eastern Star, she was an devoted member of First Baptist Church of Sour Lake. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who cherished her grandchildren and her time spent with family.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry D. and Donna Jackson, Frank and Linda Jackson; three grandsons, Richard, Hollis and Kenneth Jackson; four granddaughters, Destiny, Treasure, Nature and Dana; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband O.D.
