Paul Cormier

Reverend Paul Cormier, 78, of Vidor, Texas passed away on July 4, 2008, at The Oaks of Beaumont.

Paul was born August 9, 1929 in Jennings, Louisiana, to Eugena and Annie Cormier. A retired minister, he dedicated his life to serving God. He founded and pastored a number of churches and served as a missionary to the French West Indies.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 7, 2008, at 2:00 p.m.at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home with Reverned Earl Naquin officiating assisted by Reverend Eno Dantin. Interment will follow at Sudduth Bluff Cemetery at 4:30 p.m. Visitation will be Sunday, July 6th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 15 brothers and sisters, daughters, Evalena Cormier and Jackie Driskill and great-granddaughter, Hannah Webster.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Alice Cormier of Vidor; son, Timothy Paul Cormier of Vidor; daughter, Carol Faith Waters and husband, David of Beaumont; grandchildren, Alice, Joshua, Paul, Christi, Renee' and Daniel; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph C. Touchet and sister, Helen Monger.

We are thankful to God for the rich spiritual heritage he has imparted to his children and grandchildren.

Only GOD knows what Brother Paul meant to the people of the Bayou. Full Gospel Tabernacle in Cut Off was more like a family than a church. And GOD established the family before the church. We all have only the fondnest memories of the whole Cormier fam##imported-begin##Hilda Ross##imported-end##

I want to thank God for sending Bro. Paul way down to the "Bayou" and for Bro. Paul's faithfulness to God's Calling to come down to the "Bayou. Bro. Paul will truly be missed in my heart, for Bro. Paul was not only the founder of the church I grew up in and played a large roll in my parents life, in the early 80's he would hold prayer meetings in my home and helped me in more ways than anyone wou##imported-begin##Ramona##imported-end##
