Paul Dennis Baker, Sr.

Paul "Pop" Baker, Sr., 65, a lifelong resident of Loeb, Texas passed away April 26, 2008 at his residence. He was the son of Amith "Pugh" Baker and Louise Snider Baker. He retired from Blume Tree Service.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Leatherwood Cemetery in Loeb. Visitation will be Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Surviving "Pop" is his wife of 42 years, Myrtle Baker; sons, Paul D. Baker, Jr. and wife, Gloria, Bubba Baker and wife, Beverly, all of Loeb and Jesse Pugh Baker and wife, Mary of New Bern, NC. Also surviving him are nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; brothers, J. C. Baker, Jerry Baker, P. D. Baker and Daniel Baker, all of Loeb and Junior Baker of Vidor; his dog, Jack and a host of loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sons, Wesley Ray Baker, Donnie Ray Baker and brother Jesse Baker.

I will miss Uncle Paul. I didn't visit as often as I should have, but I always knew he was there. Now he is gone, and I am heartbroken that he is. My heart goes out to Aunt Myrtle Ann.
