Paul Lanerie

Paul Lanerie, Jr., 80, of Orange, died Monday, November 05, 2007, at Baptist Harbor Hospice of Southeast Texas.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at Autumn Oaks Cemetery in Orange.

Deacon Harvey Dubois of St. Mary Catholic Church will officiate.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Mr. Lanerie was born May 23, 1927, in Breaux Bridge, LA, to Paul Lanerie Sr. and Blanche Hachet Lanerie.

Mr. Lanerie was a retired engineer for the City of Orange, and had served in the U. S. Army as a Sargeant during WWII.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Bilbo Lanerie and sister Genevieve Blalock.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Sandra J. Haglund of Orange, Bobby Berliew and wife Debbie of Orange, Barbara Berliew of Lufkin; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and sister Marguerite Dupuis of West Lake, LA.

I am Paul Lanerie, Jr.'s first cousin. My mom was Lota Lanerie Melancon. My mon and Paul Lanerie, Sr were brother and sister. I am so sorry for your lose. My mon died in 1970 and my day died in 1980. We will never forget the wonderful time we had at Maw Maw and Paw Paw's house when we came down to Texas in 1996. The kids will always remember cleaning the Craw Fish with PawPaw in the back yard and the delicious Gumbo that MawMaw made with it. We are neighbors of Marguerite Dupuis and knew Paul and Georgia through their visits to Marguerite and Harris over the years.
