Mrs. Paula Hilton, 82, of Beaumont died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Summer Place Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Sabine Tabernacle in Beaumont with Rev. John Johnson and Rev. Jim Boykin officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.

Born in Rockland, Texas to H.J. Worthey and Mertie Inez Pope Worthey, she was the youngest of six children. She met and married her husband, Rev. Herbert H. Hilton, of 48 years at Sabine Tabernacle. In March of 1963, she, along with her family, returned to Beaumont where she continued to serve and fulfill the role of a pastor's wife.

Although carrying out various responsibilities in the ministry, she always had time for her family. She was active in her children's school functions and extracurricular activities, as well as instilling the Word of God in the hearts and lives of her children and grandchildren. She truly looked well to the ways of her household and her candle never went out. She excelled in her spiritual and practical devotion to God, which permeated every area and relationship of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Herbert H. Hilton; daughter, Rebecca Anne Hilton; parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Worthey; sister, Violene Sutton; brother-in-law, Robert Sutton; brother, Jack Worthey; brother-in-law, Jack Baxter, and sister-in-law, Theolyn Worthey.
