Pauline Bryan

Pauline Bryan, 95, of Orange, died Saturday, February 19, 2011, in Cypress, Texas.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Mr. Barry Jones of Ninth and Elm Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home in Orange.

Born in Delta County, Texas on September 17, 1915, Pauline was the daughter of John and Addie Tidrow Lancaster. She was a member of Ninth and Elm Church of Christ, a beautician and saleswoman at Palais Royal and loved to cook and host for all who would come. She was an outstanding mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert J. Bryan; brother, Carlton Lancaster; grandson, Robbie Bryan; and a great-grandson, Trevor Bryan.

Pauline is survived by her son, Robert P. Bryan of Cypress; brothers, J.B. Lancaster of Commerce, Dennis Lancaster of Dallas; 4 grandchildren, Kevin Bryan, Tory Bryan, Stacey Hanzelka all of Cypress, Kara Edwards of Austin; 14 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Haley, Micah, Morgan, Hope, Lindsay, Khloe, Tessa, Lexi and Ashley Bryan, Tyler and Taylor Hanzelka all of Cypress, Maddison and Peyton Steiner of Austin.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Kevin Bryan, Todd Hanzelka, Tory Bryan, Dave Edwards, Tyler Hanzelka and Blake Bryan.

Robert, Jerry and I were blessed many times by Pauline and RJ's hospitality. Both of them were so good to us and our children. Our children always wanted to go inside their motor home. What a woman Pauline was. Our lives kept intertwinng. I worked with her when we opened the new store, Worth's Palais Royal later. Then she was my mother-in-law's room mate in rehab at the Meadows. Her sense of humor never left. I admired her so. She##imported-begin##Melba Hudson##imported-end##

Pauline and I worked together at Palais Royal for quite a few years. I worked Customer Service, and she worked next door in lingerie, so being so close, we visited a lot. She was a delight.
