Pauline M. Martin

Funeral services for Pauline M. Martin, 94, of Beaumont will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church with Reverend Besser, officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery in Buna, Texas. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.

Pauline was born October 21, 1914 in Call, Texas and passed away June 7, 2009 at her residence in Beaumont. Raised on a farm in Call, Texas, she moved to Beaumont in 1949 and was a retired secretary from B.F. Goodrich. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and an active volunteer in many organizations.

Pauline loved to crochet and shared her talents by making caps and baby blankets for newborn infants at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth. She was a great cook, famous for her corn bread dressing prepared for family holiday gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Martin and her seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Pat and Linda Martin of Beaumont and Mike and Sherry Martin of Port Neches; four grandchildren, Russell, Jennifer, Jeffery and Wayne Martin and seven great grandchildren.

To Pauline's family, I just recently became aware of Pauline's death. At CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital, our babies and their families were so tickled with the beautiful little hats she made for them. Dear Mike and Pat, Your mother was such a joy to be with. I always enjoyed her at Senior Games Day-she loved playing dominoes at the church. My greatest joy was when I became her shepherd.
