Peggy S. Costen

Peggy S. Costen, 84, of Bridge City, died Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Southeast Texas Medical Center in Port Arthur.

A memorial gathering will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, April 2 at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on February 2, 1926, Peggy was the daughter of Giles and Mabel Gavin Snyder. She enjoyed camping, traveling and collecting Indian artifacts. Peggy enjoyed spending time with her husband and family. She always took care of others before herself.

Peggy worked as a Librarian for Bridge City ISD. She was also a member of Second Baptist Church in Bridge City.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Albritton; and brother, Gerald Turner.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert Costen whom she married on April 7, 1945 in McKenzie, Alabama; daughters, Stacey Costen Crumpler and her husband, Mike of Bridge City; and Tina Costen Stanton and her husband, Mike of Bridge City.

Also surviving are her seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

My Mothers love was unconditional. It was a sad day when Jesus took her home. I'm so glad that my Dad & I were with her as she closed her eyes.
