Perry N. Harmon, Jr.

Perry N. Harmon, Jr., 62, of Orange, Texas, died on August 19, 2009 at Baptist Orange Hospital.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 24, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Bailey Harris of Old First Orange Baptist. Cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home and Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory.

Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.

Perry was born on September 9, 1946, in Duty Ferry, Louisiana. He was the son of Perry Newman and Hallie Peveto Harmon, Sr. Perry was a bus driver for West Orange Stark ISD for many years following his retirement from Orangefield ISD. He was a life long member of Old First Orange Baptist Church. Perry was also a member of the Waffle House Breakfast Club at Interstate 10 and Highway 62.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, June; daughter and son-in-law, Leta and Byron Coffman of League City; two granddaughters Cara and Christa Coffman; son, Paul Harmon of League City; step-daughter, Cathy Day of Orange; two step-granddaughters Kacie Baker and husband Kevin of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Lindi Day of Orange; sister, Dottie Welch of Orange; niece, Brie Welch; nephew, Mike Welch and wife Sara; and other relatives in Louisiana, California, Texas, and Washington State.
