Phil B. Gaither, Sr. 85, died October 21, 2008, at Christus St Mary Hospital in Port Arthur, TX. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m at the Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City with the Reverend Steve Leger officiating.. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange. Visitation will be from 10-11a.m. at the funeral home before the Service.

Mr. Gaither was born on December 27, 1922, to Phil Gaither, Jr. and Margurite Elizabeth Bucknar Gaither. He was a chief engineer for thirty years with the Exxon Deep Sea Division. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Phil was a Mason for over fifty years and a member of the Bridge City Masonic Lodge.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Edith of 44 years. He is survived by one son and three daughters and many grandchildren and great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
