Preston Birdwell, 79, of Orange, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at The Meadows in Orange. Born in Cushing, Texas on April 11, 1932, he was the son of James C. Birdwell and Ada Williams Birdwell.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012, at King Cemetery in Hartburg.

Cremation was performed under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory in Bridge City.

I will always have fond memories of hiding under Preston's bed when I would slip away from home and run to see Mrs. Birdwell. I am thankful to have known Preston for a little while.##imported-begin##Faye Hippler Bowers##imported-end##

I took care of Preston. He was a great man. I loved him telling me stories about my grandpa and my great grandpa which I never knew. I'm going to miss him. But now, he's not hurting anymore. RIP. PRESTON love and miss you already, Stormy##imported-begin##stormy##imported-end##
