Anne Winfree

1942 ∼ 2025

A visitation to celebrate Anne's life will be held on February 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home, located at 1155 N 11th St, Beaumont, Texas, 77702.

Anne Winfree, a beloved figure known for her vibrant personality and dedication to her family, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025, in Katy, Texas. Born on April 8, 1942, she graced this world for nearly 83 years, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Anne was not only incredibly intelligent, but also possessed a vibrant sense of humor that colored her relationships with her family and friends and colleagues and shaped the way she worked with patients as a nurse for over 30 years. She possessed a deep passion for reading, and often immersed herself in crossword puzzles for the love of a good challenge. Always an avid follower of the news and current events as well as history and theology, she often enjoyed engaging in detailed conversations about nearly any topic. Her compassion was frequently displayed in her love of animals. She could never bear to leave a stray animal in need, and her house was always sure to be home to at least one creature to love and care for, reflecting her big-hearted nature.

As a devoted mother who was known as "Nanny" to her grandchildren, Anne played a pivotal role in her family, frequently offering advice and sharing in the details of their lives. Whether baking a favorite dessert for a birthday, curating a list of the most-requested family dinners, or hosting holiday feasts for family and friends, she loved to create delicious meals and treats for those she loved. Her fondness for music added to the warmth of her home, filling it with sounds that inspired and uplifted and comforted her.

Anne leaves behind a cherished memory in the hearts of her loved ones, whose lives she enriched with her kindness, humor, and love. She had long looked forward to a heavenly reunion with loved ones who had gone before her; her family rejoices and takes comfort knowing that she is now with the Lord and with those she held so dear.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Winfree; her parents, Anderson and Lula Mae Perkins; her sisters, Marguerite Winfield, and Mary Alice Ivey; and her grandmother, Victoria Ozio.

She is survived by her children, Keith Winfree and wife Robin of Austin, Texas, Sharon Rigsby and husband Matt of Beaumont, Texas, Felicia Cravens and husband Joe of Katy, Texas, and Kathleen Mullenix and husband Jonathan of Beaumont, Texas; her 11 grandchildren; her 3 great grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Aaron Ivey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Anne Winfree was a beautiful woman. Anne & Bob were friends with my parents, so I have known her for decades. Always sweet and thoughtful. When my mother died, and we were going through her pictures I found Anne & Bob's Wedding Picture. It is an honor to have known this precious soul.

I am so sorry Kathleen. I have wonderful memories of your mom when we were in high school and would hang out at your house. She was always so welcoming even though we drove her crazy. She always greeted you at the door with the biggest sweetest smile and always made you feel welcomed. I know she was so happy seeing your daddy again. You all are in my prayers
